It is completely FREE to advertise on Gumtree.
However you can choose to feature your ad to stand out from the crowd and the particular feature fees are dependent on the feature bought and city and category you're advertising in.
To find out what the fees for a particular feature are simply;

Click Post Ad

Choose the the category you want to advertise

Complete all necessary fields

Scroll down towards the bottom of the "post ad page" and you will see the available feature options with prices listed

Choose a feature or features you'd like to add to your advertisement and "Post your Ad" this will take you to the payment page with instructions to follow.
If you are a registered user simply;

Login to Gumtree

Go to "My Gumtree" tab

Go to "Promote my ads"

and choose a feature or features to buy for your ad (note: the options listed here are for 7 days options and if you want a shorter period please click on edit which will take you to edit your ad page and their you can choose the shorter duration)
